A patient complained of stimuli sensitivity and periodic dull pain in the second molar area.
1. The crown margin of the mandibular second molar did not fit and it seemed that caries was progressing.
(May. 15, 2014)
2. The old crown was removed. And root canal treatment was performed.
3. To access subgingival caries, the nearby alveolar bone was removed using a piezoelectric surgical machine.
4. piezo-electric surgical machine (SURGYBONE®, SILFRADENT CO, ITALY)
5. Removal of alveolar bone using ultrasonic effect.
6. The biggest advantage of piezo is that it does not injure soft tissue and acts only on hard tissue.
